How the estimate is built
The calculator applies SelectDrive's real pricing model: a $0.75 per mile base rate (minimum $500), fuel at about $0.18 per mile, tolls at about $0.02 per mile, $120 per night lodging for each ~500 miles beyond the first day, an 8% insurance line, and a driver return of $150 for short routes or $250 for routes over 500 miles.
